Here is the current air quality index in Spokane

The agency said fires burning in parts of the Inland Northwest are playing a factor in the deteriorated air quality.

SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s another hot day across the Inland Northwest, and with it comes worsening air quality across the region.

According to the Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency, the current air quality in Spokane is 80, which falls in the “Moderate” category. 

According to the agency, air quality could fall into the “unhealthy” category Wednesday and Thursday.

The agency said regional fires burning in parts of the Inland Northwest are playing a factor in the depleted air quality.

Air Quality Alerts are in effect for most of Eastern and Central Washington, including Spokane County and Stevens County.
