Keys to the Game
This is far more about LSU than Louisiana Tech
Coming off an emotional, high stakes and high intensity game like Clemson the one word that can derail a team like LSU against Louisiana Tech is complacency. It’s going to be hard to match that energy for four quarters but that’s something Brian Kelly doesn’t seem to be too worried about with this particular team.
“There’s a standard of playing football here at LSU, and that’s the standard that we’re gonna have to play when we go on that field. We’ve already talked about what to expect this week. But our expectations are that if we want to go 1-0, we have to do the same things each and every week, and we’re not moving off of that,” Kelly said.
LSU is quicker, faster and stronger than Louisiana Tech and will no doubt use all of their physical traits to its advantage in this game. What’s far more important is that the Tigers come out and play a clean game on both sides of the ball. It’s going to be hard to replicate zero defensive penalties or zero 10+ yard runs allowed like the purple and gold did in week one.
But even the average football fan knows what a well executed, clean performance looks like on the field. If the offense can unleash some more creativity through the air and hold up well protection wise and the defense continues to bring the pressure up front, it should be a long night for Louisiana Tech.
